Aperitivo, or pre-dinner drinks and snacks is a tradition that is so popular and common throughout Italy and other parts of Europe. Whilst having an aperitivo in Italy, I discovered the Aperol Spritz, a popular aperitivo, so naturally I was drawn to a restaurant in Perth named after this fabulous drink.
Spritz Spizzicheria oozes traditional Italian, from the food to the native speaking staff. I have been to Spritz more times then I can count now and every time I have absolutely loved it, from pizzas, to pastas and seafood, all the food is fresh and full of flavor. My favourite dish at Spritz is the fettucine with seafood, a beautiful pasta dish with tomato sauce and fresh mussels, scallops, prawns and squid. It is heaven!
I also love the chilli mussels (can you see a pattern here?) Yes, I’m slightly biased towards seafood dishes as I LOVE seafood, however the pizzas that I have had have also been absolutely melt in your mouth (drooling over that buffalo mozzarella as I type…)
Don’t fear, Spritz also lives up to its name; you can order a fabulous Aperol Spritz that comes with a little tasting board of cheese, olives and sausage-just like in Italy, love it! The Aperol Spritz is extra tasty here as well, as they put a scoop of sorbet in them to make them sweeter, how good is that?
To finish off your night, I HIGHLY recommend going next door to Affogato to get a creamy gelato. They literally make the gelato fresh every day and I’m telling you, you’ll be going back. Some of the flavours include biscotto, cannolo, zabaione, nutella and pistacchio…I almost faint every time I walk in.
If you haven’t already been, you need to go to and try it out for flavours fresh from Italy and don’t forget to order you aperitivo!
